Testimonials

This is one of the recent testimonials we received from one of our role players.

Just got home from my fourth day of the Scenario training- exhausted but very enthusiastic! Today was the best day yet! I'm playing a character that is very near to being arrested tomorrow by the Police and charged with a crime!

The officers we have met have been fantastic to work with. Very approachable, thoughtful and enthusiastic. Even though we are dealing with very senior people, they are treating us with respect and making us feel we are a valued part of the training.

They readily share their thoughts with us, and thoroughly explain the methodology they are observing in their own Investigators, thus it has been a dramatic and entertaining learning curve on intensive Interview techniques. It's the subtle things that make all the difference in closing a case, and I doubt that any other experience would be able to supply as much exposure to Interview techniques as this, and we are getting paid to have fun while we learn! It's sometimes daunting, but that only adds to the appeal when the scenario begins.

We have been relatively free to adlib our individual scenario's, which helps to make the situations unique, exciting and often amusing! It's really easy to sit back and pick up on others mistakes from an observers point of view and that's what makes this opportunity so unique!

It's quite amazing how I was interviewed by one trainee, then by a second and I was able to observe the different tactics that were applied for obtaining information from the suspect (me.) The settings and interview equipment used is true to life.

So much so that sometimes I have found myself with sweaty palms as I tried to lie my way out of a web of lies I had spun in an attempt to deceive the Trainee. If anyone has been formally questioned under pressure they will know exactly how daunting it can be! Our job is to guide the trainee's and gently help them back on track if their techniques go a bit South!

Then there is the story of a bodily fluid sample, but that's a whole other story!

Looking forward to tomorrow where I expect to be spending the night in jail. At least the food is good!

All I can say is if you are not involved, you need to be. You have no idea what you are missing.
